Role Overview

As a Tax Manager, you will lead client engagements involving personal and corporate tax compliance, tax planning, and HMRC representation. You will supervise junior staff, manage internal deadlines, and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients. The role involves both hands-on technical work and strategic oversight.

We’re looking for a confident, experienced tax professional who can think critically, lead with authority, and maintain client trust through technical accuracy and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients with diverse UK and international tax needs
  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations, Self Assessments, and advisory memos
  • Monitor deadlines, submissions, and communication with HMRC
  • Train and review work prepared by Associates and Executives
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies, risk mitigation, and legislative updates
  • Lead client meetings and deliver technical explanations in a clear and consultative manner
  • Collaborate with the accounting and compliance teams on integrated client strategies

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in UK tax advisory or compliance
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax law, including CT, SA, and VAT
  • CTA qualified or ACCA/ACA with tax specialisation preferred
  • Previous experience managing junior team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in tax and accounting software (e.g., TaxCalc, Sage, Xero)
